What does your leadership look like?

Are you blind to the needs of others?

Are you preoccupied with yourself and your own agenda?

Or…..have you bought into the model of Servant Leadership?

Interestingly, Servant Leadership isn’t something new, it’s not a buzz word, it’s been around for over 2000 years.

Let’s look at a few issues and see the difference between a Worldview of leadership (WVL)and Servant leadership (SL).

👉 Gaining Influence.

WVL- One would leverage power.
SL - Simply love and care for others.

👉 Acquiring Authority.

WVL - Demand and claim the right.
SL - Become a servant of others.

👉 Growing your organization.

WVL - Demanding of your people.
SL - Develop your people.

👉 The vision that drives you.

WVL - Temporary gain for here and now.
SL - Caring about Eternal gain.

The best example you can follow for the true understanding of servant leadership is that set by Jesus. It doesn’t make sense the way it works but truly, it’s the only way that does work, each and every time.

This is what scripture has to say.

But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, - Matthew 20:25-28 NLT
