How do you deal with fear?
Fear comes in a variety of sizes, shapes and anxieties. Some are afraid to speak in public, while others are afraid of clowns.

Whatever your fears are, there are ways to combat them and take control of the situation. It may not happen overnight but once you start the process you can make progress.

Here are some quick steps to help you become FEAR-less:

1. Identify the source of your fear -
When you were in school did others laugh at you when you stood to speak? Did you have a run in with a clown 🤡 at the circus? Finding the root cause is a great way to start overcoming the fear.

2. Face your fears -
Start with small steps and gradually work your way up to bigger challenges. Maybe write a quick one minute talk and present it to your co-works or better yet, join a group like Toastmasters and learn how to speak properly.

3. Learn some relaxation techniques -
Deep breathing, visualization, and meditation can help calm your mind and reduce anxiety. This is a big one for me. I have found that I often still get butterflies before I speak. It would concern me more if I didn’t.

4. Remember you are not alone -
Talking to a friend, family member, co-worker, pastor or therapist can help you process your fears and find a solution that’s right for you.

5. Take Action! -
If you are afraid to speak, go speak, if your afraid of clowns, dress up like one yourself.

The fear is speaking and of clowns were just two examples I used. Whatever your fear is, these tips can help you start the process of overcoming them and possibly living a FEAR-less life.
