Have you ever felt you were spinning out of control?

Have you ever felt you were spinning out of control?
I know there have been times in my life where I have.

Times when I felt exhausted and drained.

I lost interest in work.

I felt overwhelmed and I found myself getting stressed.

I had trouble concentrating and making decisions.

I was irritable, short-tempered and extremely impatient with others.

Not to mention the physical problems like headaches and stomach problems. I withdrew from social activities too.

Face it, I was stuck in a rut and felt trapped, having a negative and cynical attitude towards my work and life in general.

I was burned out! Have you been there? Are you there now?

Here are some things I did to overcome burnout. I hope they are a help to you as well.

👉 Take a break. Get-a-way! Unplug!

Even if it's just for a day or two to recharge and relax.

👉 Practice self-care.

There are lots you can do here. Work out, pray, go for a walk, or just spend some time with loved ones.

👉 Set boundaries.

This is HUGE if you are being pulled in every direction. Learning to say no and setting boundaries will help to prevent overcommitment.

👉 Seek support.

This could be as simple as talking with family or friends to seeking help from a mental health professional. Reaching out to someone is critical.

👉 Change your surroundings.

If your professional life is toxic, get out. If it’s just boring and mundane, consider taking on a new project to add a challenge to your routine.

👉 Celebrate your achievements!!

Recognize and celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how small. This can boost your motivation and sense of purpose.

What are some things you have done to get out of the funk?

Go make a difference today!
