Do You Have A Hard Time Making Decisions?

Yes or No

Do you have a hard time making decisions?

.
You are not alone. Indecision happens to be a very common trait. The problem however is most of us don’t weigh the costs of indecision.

Now before we start splitting hairs, let me point out that not deciding is making a decision, I get that. For the sake of this writing though, I am focused on the word indecision.

Being Indecisive can result in many negative effects.

👉 Missed opportunities
👉 Lost time
👉 Increased stress

The inability to make a decision can also result in slowed progress in your personal and professional growth.

So what are the costs? Let’s break them down.

Missed opportunities:
Throughout our life, opportunities come and go. Not deciding could result in a chance to advance your career, make new friends, or learn a new skill. In business, indecision can result in lost business and missed deadlines and missed opportunities for growth and expansion.

Lost time:
We all have the same amount of time in our day, once it’s gone it cannot be replaced. Time may very well be our most valuable resource. You might spend hours or even days weighing your options, which could be a significant waste of your precious time.

Increased stress:
Making any decision can be stressful, but the longer you wait, the more stressful it becomes. Indecision can lead to anxiety, worry, and sleepless nights. It can also cause tension in relationships and decrease your overall quality of life.

Making decisions is a critical part of your personal and professional development. Indecision may keep you from taking risks or pushing yourself out of your comfort zone leading lead to stagnation.

But don’t lose hope. There are things you can do to avoid these negative effects of indecision.

Learn techniques to develop your decision-making skills. Decide to take action when necessary, start with small decisions and work up to the big ones. Find a coach to help you with this. You will find it far better to decide and let your yes be yea and your no be no.
