Liz Wiseman, author of several books, published one in 2021 called “Impact Players” In a recent podcast , she talked with Mark Cole, CEO of The John Maxwell Team about the book. Listen to the podcast here. https://lnkd.in/gjQnmDcX

In this book she highlighted the characteristics of those members on your team who step up and lead when a need arises.

These “impact players” are difference makers, doing what is needed and then going back to just being themselves.

Let me share with you a story of an “impact player “ I had the pleasure of meeting last night.

I was invited by John Knotts to attend the Executive Book Review’s 4th annual authors night. To say I was blown away 🤯 would be an understatement.

I met several wonderful people who are making a difference in their various workplaces and in the communities they serve.

One of the EBR board members truly stood out to me as an “impact player” within the organization. She just so happens to be the CEO of a non-profit organization called Robyn’s Nest. (Find out more here) www.robynsnestsa.org

Robyn Tresnak is truly someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of those she serves. She speaks about this organization with such passion and emotion you can’t help but want to support her efforts and the team she so readily gives credit to. You need to check out the great things that Robyn’s Nest does, and support them if you’re able.

Attending the meeting opened my eyes to a new and different way to look at what it means to be a lifelong learner.

Here are some of the take aways that impacted me.

👉 You’re never to old to start.
➡️ Meaning: Just what it says.

👉 We all have a story to tell.
➡️ Meaning: What we have to share about our lives could just be what someone else needs to hear to help them.

👉 Look at life like an apple.
➡️ Meaning: If your green you’re growing, if you’re ripe you’re rotting. Stay green, keep learning and growing.

👉 Words create worlds.
➡️ Meaning: Words have power and meaning and can open our imagination to new things.

I hope this inspires you to continue on the path of life long learning or creates a desire in you to start.

❓If you already are a life long learner, what is something you could share to help someone starting out❓
