Today is a really special day for me. My wife and I are celebrating thirty-five years of marriage.

👉 Thirty-five years of ups and downs, good times and bad.

👉 Thirty-five years of memories made and challenges tackled.

👉 Thirty-five years of lessons learned and some learned multiple times.

Your marriage, if done correctly, has a much greater chance of lasting longer than most businesses. In 1965 the average company stayed open for 32 years. By 2020 that dwindled to 21 years.

Marriage isn’t easy or for the faint of heart. It’s pretty much like running a business.

➡️ You need clearly defined goals.

➡️ You need you to be willing to say you were wrong (sometimes even when you were right)

➡️ You need to work closely with your team and remember you are in it together.

➡️ You need to operate within your means.

➡️ When things are tough remind each other of your previous wins and how well we operate as a team.

➡️ Encourage each other daily.

Personally, I am very excited about having made it to Thirty-five and cannot wait to see what the next Thirty-five has to offer.

Oh, and instead of upgrading to a newer model like some have done, I simply upgraded the symbol of my love for her. After all, she had put up with me for a very long time.
