Ever Been Run Over By A Truck?

Sick

Ever been run over by a truck?

I hardly ever get sick. Something hit me Tuesday that took me down for the count. I was hoping it was just a 24 hour bug, I could live with that.

I woke up Wednesday morning and I felt great. Got up, went into the office, yahoo, all better. Within an hour and a half I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I was exhausted. So I went home and slept most of the day.

I know by now I was pretty dehydrated so I drank some Pedialyte for adults. WOW is all I can say. Within an hour I actually had energy back and felt human again.

Then I started thinking, was my body telling me to rest. I mean, after all I go pretty hard. Running one business, building another and preaching on Sundays. Busy life, but I love

What can we all learn from this two day detour that I experienced?

👉 Listen to your body. Rest when you need to.

👉 Build a team you can rely on. I was fortunate to know everything was taken care of. Client appointments re-scheduled, calls returned and all I did was tell them I wasn’t coming in.

👉 It’s ok to not be ok. Stop putting on a false front. We are not super human. When you’re not well take care of yourself. You do no good for anyone the longer you’re out.

👉 The world doesn’t revolve around you. If you get off the ride for a few days it’s not going to change a thing.

I don’t wish this detour upon anyone but, if it happens to you, now there are some things you can remember to help you through it.
